Abstract

The following work intends to study the history of ontology in order to clarify whether ontological research is still possible within the framework of postmodernism and decoloniality. From the historical study it is concluded that ontology is a science that arose in the Middle Ages and was nominated in Modernity, and is part of a more general practice that thinkers carry out: an inquiry into the determination of the being, traversed by historical circumstances, belonging to a community and biographical. This allows visualizing a resolution to the starting problem.
