The starting point of this work is the thesis that Hegel's ideas about love and honor, as well as the Hegelian notion of recognition, are today a fundamental supply for feminist political theory. To demonstrate that idea, we will take the “double look” method: on the one hand, we will offer an overview of the place of women in Hegel's work; on the other, we will seek to demonstrate the political productivity of many of his ideas in contemporary feminist thought.
