Community and the Worldwide: Towards a Transmodern Marx

Abstract

This paper discusses the topics of the worldwide and community in Karl Marx’s work, based on several recent readings – most of which draw on previously unpublished texts – to rethink the work of this fundamental author. Based on this review, and drawing from Enrique Dussel's concept of “transmodernity”, it argues that starting with the Grundrisse Marx's approach breaks with the modernist and Eurocentric prejudices still present in his early work.
